“I think what was special about this group is that we knew long before the season even started that it was our year. I remember talking with the other seniors over the summer and manifesting our own success in bringing home the wick. From there it was just putting plan into action, and a lot of newer and younger players stepped up to play key roles on our journey. Everyone knew their strengths and their job on the ice, and everyone just played their game, and it was executed perfectly. I was proud of the consistency and dedication from the entire team and the development that occurred over the course of the season. Hard work paid off, and while we won it all this year, I believe Priory hockey is in good hands for many years to come.” – Nate Sutto
“Coming into this year I really had no idea where this team stood in the last 3 years we had struggled greatly and not had much success at all especially in the post season. After the preseason tournament I got an idea of what this team could really do and how special it was. Obviously with the senior leader ship we had I knew we were in good hands there, but it came down to the team around us and I couldn’t say I could be any prouder of a group of guys as I am. Every single player on this team took a step up from last year and the freshman this year really played such a huge role in the success for this team. Besides all the stats and everything that we did this year I will say it has been the most fun I’ve ever had playing with a team. There wasn’t a time that I didn’t enjoy being around the team and just soaking it all in. I feel that all the younger kids looked up to the seniors this year and being a leader to them has been my favorite thing about it. Even if we didn’t win anything I would say the same thing but going out and winning it all will always be a memory I will keep forever alongside the group of guys. And like I said before, I would die for it. Thank you priory hockey thank you priory spirit and thank you to everyone who helped us accomplish something so special. I will always be thankful for the memories I have of playing hockey at priory.” – Freddy Gaertner
“Priory Hockey has truly been one of the greatest joys of my life. From my first time suiting up for B-Team in 7th grade, Wednesday night practices in Pacific (lots of skills, lots of touches, definitely worth the drive out!), to finally making the Varsity team Freshman year, the successes of this season have been a culmination of brotherhood cultivated since I first came to Priory. Priory Hockey is truly unlike any other sport at Priory. Although we practice as a team the least out of all Priory sports and many players are also committed to other teams during the season, the culture that we have created is one-of-a-kind. Though it might suck getting off the ice at 10:30PM on a weeknight or missing every week of Sunday Night Football, it was moments of dedication like these that set our team apart. The memories Priory Hockey has given me are moments that I will cherish forever. Whether it be my first Varsity goal against Eureka, Friday nights at Fenton, or sitting out on a deck blasting The Smiths at 2AM on a chilly summer night with teammates, I will never forget the time I have been lucky enough to spend with my fellow seniors and teammates. Finally being able to be a part of the group that brought the Wickenheiser Cup back to Priory was the cherry on top after four long years of hard work, long climbs, and numerous setbacks. Although it is incredibly rare to end your Priory athletic career on a win, the most valuable part of sports at this school is not trophies or banners, but the brothers you gain along the way.” – Barrett Beimdieck
