The Varsity Soccer Team has put together an
exciting and resilient 2025 campaign, entering the final
stretch of the regular season with an overall record of
11–6 and a perfect 4–0 mark in league play. With just
three league games remaining, the team is in a strong
position to capture the league title.
This season has been marked by dramatic finishes and
statement victories. The team earned a memorable
3–2 double-overtime win against De Smet, a program
they had not beaten for many years, and also secured
a 1–0 overtime victory over Westminster, a key league
opponent. These wins showcased the squad’s grit and
ability to perform under pressure.
The path hasn’t been without challenges. Early
in the year, the team fell 1–0 in the championship
game of the St. Dominic Super Cup, and later endured
a devastating 2–1 double-overtime loss to Farmington
in the middle of the season. However, the players
responded with resilience, rebounding to defeat De
Smet shortly afterward in one of the highlights of
the year.
Most recently, the team delivered an outstanding
performance against top-ranked Parkway West,
narrowly falling 2–1 in overtime despite leading with
just six minutes remaining. Although it was a tough loss,
it showed the team that they can compete with the best
in the area.
Looking ahead, the Varsity Soccer Team is
preparing for the district tournament, scheduled for Nov.
1–11. Their district features strong opponents, including
Westminster and Chaminade, but the team is determined
to persevere and make a deep postseason run. With
momentum building and a league title within reach, the
Varsity Soccer Team has its sights set on finishing the
season strong and making history in the weeks ahead.
