So far, the cross-country season
has been one of hard work and team bonding. From
brutal speed workouts to “easy” 7-mile long run days,
the team’s performance has steadily improved each day,
proving our hard work on meet days. At our first meet
at Forest Park, Jacob Kheriaty, a varsity runner, medaled
with an impressive 5K time of 18:28, finishing in 14th
place out of 167 runners. Meanwhile, Noah Aldridge, a
junior varsity runner, finished a 3K in 4th place with an
astounding time of 11:26. The JV team placed 4th overall,
while Varsity came in 10th. The team made its way to
Festus for our second meet with Varsity, placing 10th,
Jacob Kheriaty and Noah Aldridge once again finishing
with great performances, and JV placing 12th. Our third
meet, all the way at the state course, Gans Creek, we saw
great times for most of the team, with many coming close
to a PR, personal record. At our 4th meet, the team ran
the Priory Mike Rebello meet, Varsity placed 4th out of 13
teams, and JV came in 6th out of 8 teams. 3 Varsity and
JV runners medaled: George Schwartz, Jacob Kheriaty,
and Noah Aldridge for Varsity, Simon Lin, Matthew Goss,
and Benjamin McKenzie, coming in the top 20 runners
for each race. At the most recent meet, the Patriot-
Statesmen Classic in Webster Groves, over half of the
team in total achieved a new PR. This week, on Saturday,
Varsity will be heading down south to Engler Park in
Farmington, running at 12 pm, and JV will head off to
Jefferson Barracks Park in Hancock to run at 10:30 and 11
am. Go Ravens!
