When the academic year restarts in August a new group of student-editors will be in charge of The Record. Here the students, all seniors, introduce themselves.
Sean Kaveney: Since I began my Priory journey as a seventh grader, I’ve been interested in The Record. I always look forward to reading the different articles from students and teachers on Fridays. This year’s editors have set a good example, and I believe that the incoming editors will be able to build on their success, as the incoming editors get along well and will be able to get things done smoothly and efficiently. I hope to be a versatile member of the editorial team, as I enjoy writing. I hope to be able to diversify the content of The Record and to encourage more students to contribute.
Max Nadaud: As an editor for The Record next year, I’m hoping to not only encourage writing from all corners of the school, but to aid in the writing process, and provide my expertise to those in need. As a five-year writer for The Record, I have hands-on experience of what it takes to get published, and I’m looking forward to giving the same guidance to other students who are looking to publish their work. My main focus has been in the sports world, and discussing the financial aspects of the game, and I plan on continuing to do my own pieces but also extend an invite to anyone else who’d like to give their opinion.
Luke Nowak: An advocate for all things music and food, I hope to bring to The Record a focus on the arts and the growing community and opportunities we have here in St. Louis. In addition to this, I also will bring to light a strong, traditional, Catholic perspective to the issues and news in our world, most prominently our new pope, in accord with our Benedictine values. I look forward to keeping the great tradition that is The Record alive and promoting more involvement in it schoolwide.
Connor Perschbacher: Since I have been at Priory, I, along with many others, have always enjoyed coming back from Church on a Friday to pick up an issue of The Record. My previous experience with The Record has been everything from a laugh with friends regarding a funny article or look-alike to a beneficial opportunity outside of class to improve my writing skills (while also getting some greatly appreciated extra credit). Going into my Senior year as an editor of The Record, I hope to uphold the high standard and quality of the work the seniors this year have put out while also adding new additions and perspectives, hoping to further instill a sense of community through The Record.
Robby Temprano: As a Record editor next year, I’m excited to provide Priory with all things athletics related. I’ve always had a real passion for sports, whether I’m playing, watching, or talking about them, they’ve been a big part of my life. I believe sports bring out the best in people and reveal something deeper about who we are. That’s the kind of energy and perspective I hope to bring to The Record. I’m committed to putting in the work to make this paper as strong, insightful, and entertaining as it can be.
