The Ball brothers, known for their generational high school basketball run at Chino Hills and outspoken father, have recently been the focus of media attention due to various events. Their father, LaVar Ball, recently had his right foot amputated due to a serious medical issue but has maintained a strong presence on Cameo. Lavar is most notable for claiming he could beat Michael Jordan one on one because he is simply, “too big, too strong”. Lavar is responsible for turning all of his sons into stellar basketball players as he began training him since they were mere children. It is LaVar’s reckless confidence and determination that has allowed him to succeed in many ways as he launched the Big Ball Brand (BBB) despite criticism and has promoted his sons giving them publicity as they have risen to fame. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances LaVar will no longer be able to prove his dominance over Michael Jordan on the court which leaves the public without an answer to their most pressing concern.
Despite a short lived basketball career, LiAngelo Ball, also known as GELO, dropped hit singles “Tweaker” as well as “Can You Please” which have blown up in the past month. GELO even performed at this year’s NBA All-Star Weekend in San Francisco.
Lonzo Ball, a former UCLA Bruin, has re-signed with the Chicago Bulls despite having a career riddled with injuries. Lonzo hasn’t played in nearly three years due to his countless knee surgeries, including a cartilage transplant. Although an impressive athlete on the court, Lonzo shares in GELO’s musical proficiency, most notably his ability to freestyle.
Lamelo Ball, the youngest of the Ball brothers can be characterized as a family man who enjoys the simple things like turkey on Thanksgiving. Despite his deep love for Thanksgiving, Lamelo has a great fear of clowns as he is seen punching the head off of a clown in recent footage. Lamelo hasn’t let his wealth or popularity affect his roots as many other young stars fall victim to. Despite being reckless as a teenager, he has grown to be the face of the Charlotte Hornets franchise because of dynamic play making ability. I believe his newfound humility stemmed from his inability to order food at a drive through. Through this experience, Lamelo was forced into self reflection and after doing so, it is evident that he has become a new man. Despite his father being the founder of the Big Baller Brand, Lamelo’s brand deal and signature shoe is with Puma. Although Puma has lost popularity in recent years, Lamelo’s shoe has become one of the most notable sneakers in the past two years with their bright colorways. Lamelo is known for playing like a point guard but being uncharacteristically tall for the position standing at 6 ‘7’’.
The fourth and most important Ball brother is LiDicky Ball. A star in all facets of his life as a comedian, rapper, and hooper. Some claim his relationship with the Ball family is nothing short of a skit, but when I witness how he acts around his newfound brothers, I see a deeper connection that transcends the shallow nature of a comedic skit.
Despite their various skills and talents, each member of the Ball family is able to unite under a common goal. They all strive to preserve the Ball legacy and make their name go down as one of the greatest in all of sports and the history of American culture.
