Recently an up-and-coming artist “Nettspend” released a groundbreaking album. This album released, on January 6th, was a masterpiece, headlined by songs like “Skipping Class”, “Beach Leak” and “Shut Up”. These songs are defined by heavy mixes of 808s and synth sounds, and Nettspend effortlessly floats across these beats with his angelic voice rapping over these near-impossible beats. Nettspend’s catalog is headlined by songs like “nothing like uuu”, “drankdrankdrank” and “We not like you”. I was first exposed to Nettspend in February of 2024 with his song “drankdrankdrank”. I was alerted to this song through my underground rap discord server called “The Underground Hub”, and from the moment my ears were blessed with his voice, I was hooked. I knew I needed more. I began to dive into the Nettspend discography and it just kept getting better and better. Nettspend has recently graduated from the underground rap scene and has now gone mainstream due to help from a myriad of posts on TikTok. A lot of these posts are hateful and derogatory towards Nettspend, which he does not deserve. A lot of them say things like “when the beat is fire but Nettspend starts rapping ”. These posts are not only disrespectful but also false. Despite this, Nettspend managed to block out the hate and started a relationship with a supermodel, Rhonda. This spurred a myriad of online support by people saying “I got racks niw Rhonda” which means he has recently acquired a lot of money aka racks but now he has Rhonda which he cherishes more than the money. Nettspend deserves the artist of the year award for 2024. Despite being well deserving of it, he was sadly snubbed, so I went to the street to see what Nettspend supporters think of this.

A: 2021 with his song “funuhyuh”, I discovered him by browsing Reddit forums and frequenting my underground rap discords.

Q: What do you think of him being snubbed?
A: Absolutely sickening, it showed people have lost the ability to think critically and closed their ears and refuse to discover new music. Despite this, I hope this helps him stay under the mainstream because once artists break 1 million monthly listeners I stop listening to them.
