Greetings Fellow Students-
My name is Colin Pim, but I am also known as the Love Doctor. As we near the Homecoming dance, I am here to bring some good tips and tricks to make yourself more of a gentleman, and allow you to successfully “Rizz up” your date.
Now tomorrow is Homecoming, so I really hope you have a date. If you don’t, here are some quick tips. First, show up to her house, with flowers and a poster. If you’ve never met her, even better. It shows that you care and no one can say no to some quality petunias. Second, make sure that she doesn’t know you’re coming. Everyone loves a surprise. Personally, I would suggest throwing pebbles at her window in the middle of the night, and serenading her with “Riptide” by Vance Joy, but most likely any song by the Lumineers will also do the trick.
Now when you pick up your date for the dance, make sure you pull up in a clean car. Park in the driveway, knock on the front door, and when your date’s father opens the door, make sure to either kneel or bow before him. You are taking his daughter out, so it is always best to show respect. When your date comes downstairs, make sure to tell her “Wow, you look beautiful darling” and give her a kiss on the hand. Finally escort her to your car, open the door for her, and make sure she is secured and safe in the vehicle (usually more than one seatbelt should be used to maximize safety).
When you arrive at the dance, the first thing you want to do is find the DJ, hand him a $5 bill, and request a slow song to be played in the next 30 minutes. Personally I recommend “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran, or “All Of Me” by John Legend. Talk to your date in the meantime. Some good questions to ask include: What is your favorite color? What is your mother’s maiden name? What would you rate me on a scale of 1-10?. When the slow dance song comes on, hold out your hand and ask her to dance. Clear out the dancefloor, and make sure one of your friends shines a light on you, so you are the center of attention. I personally would use a waltz or an Argentinian tango, but a Rumba or Foxtrot would also work. When the song is over, make sure to go mosh with the rest of the boys, because you don’t want to look obsessed with your girl.
When the dance ends, get to your car immediately. Open the door for your date, apply two or more seat belts (again just to guarantee safety), and get her home as soon as possible. You do not know her curfew, and do not want to be one second late. There is no need to go to an after party or anything like that, because they are not fun, and it is more beneficial to get a good night’s sleep.
When you arrive at her house, open the car door for her, remove her seatbelts for her, and walk her to the front door. Tell her how great of a time you had, and lean in for a smooch. If all goes well, she will give you a high five after, and you will know you were a great date. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to me via email. I wish all of you the best of luck tomorrow!
