Growing up, everyone can remember their parents rushing to pack their lunch and throw in a Lunchable, and it is heaven on earth. I remember being overjoyed when I unzipped my lunch box and saw those chicken nuggets with Oreos. Recently Mr. Beast, KSI, and Logan Paul have decided to diss my childhood and create a new product that puts down lunchables and promotes their new product: Lunchly—replacing the classic Capri Sun with Prime. They promote their new product by posting on TikTok, showing that they have a little bit more of their respective beverage. Lunchly is also promoted with Logan Paul’s quote, “I like my cheese drippy bruh.” They go as far as to throw up when they eat Lunchables and then state “They are not biased at all,” which is quite suspect given the fact that they are attempting to promote their new product.
This raises the question, is Lunchly truly better than Lunchables? I wanted to get to the bottom of this mystery so I got in my car and turned on “Thick of It” by KSI and raced to the nearest Dierbergs.
Once I located the Lunchly and the respective Lunchable, it was time for a taste test. I got the nachos from both respective brands. The Lunchables came with a KitKat and a fruit punch Capri Sun, while the Lunchly came with a Feastables bar and a strawberry banana Prime. First off, the Lunchables had more nacho chips and the cheese was much better. Sadly the cheese was not as drippy as displayed in the video. The Lunchly cheese had a milk-like consistency and gross and the Lunchable cheese had more of a sharp taste. Going on to the bev, Strawberry Banana Prime was not enjoyable and the Capri Sun tasted much better; it was much sweeter than the Prime, so I preferred the Capri Sun by a landslide. Going on to the dessert, the KitKat was bigger and it had a nice crunch to it. The Feastable bar was crunchy and tasted like a thin crunch bar that is left from Halloween that you find in your pillow case two months after Halloween. It was like those Hershey bars you buy from Aldi, those great value ones. The Lunchable was also more than a dollar cheaper, $2.65 vs $4.35.
Overall, I rate the Lunchly a 5/10 and the classic Lunchable an 8/10. Now, I might have a little nostalgia bias, but I did not enjoy the Lunchly and I have concluded that they were in fact biased in the review and the cheese is not as drippy as it is advertised. But despite Lunchly not being very good compared to Lunchables, KSI’s song “Thick of It” is my new favorite song and I was happy to support him by buying a Lunchly.
