The 2024 Priory Cross Country season is in full swing with the conclusion of our first meet at the Forest Park Cross Country Festival on the 14th. Some of you may be aware of the large influx of freshmen into cross country this year. Over half the team consists of freshmen. We saw an impressive showing from our incoming freshman, particularly Nathan Singer, Jacob Kheriaty, and Noah Aldridge. They all ran with varsity and ran quite well, especially for their first year of high school cross country. There were also impressive times from our runners in both the freshman and Junior Varsity race. Although ultimately our highschool teams did not place in the meet, they did rather well considering several athletes were out to take the ACT. However, the Junior School team managed to beat all the other middle school teams and take home a win in their first meet of the season. The true ability of the team will be tested this Friday at the Fulton Cross Country Invitational and the Festus Bowles Invitational. The whole team should be there and varsity will be able to preview their district course at Fulton. The Season is off to a great start, and ,judging by how the Junior School and freshmen did at Forest Park, the future of Priory Cross Country looks bright.
