Ingredients
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups (12-ounce package) Nestle Toll House Milk Chocolate Morsels
Secret ingredients to take your cookies from drab to fab. These seasonings lend a “holiday spice” flavor that elevates without overpowering:
⅛-¼ teaspoon of ground cloves
⅛-¼ teaspoon of nutmeg
½ teaspoon of cinnamon
Step 1:
*Preheat the oven to 375° F.
Step 2:
*Combine flour, baking soda, salt, and secret ingredients (if desired) in a small bowl. Set aside.
*Beat butter (softened in microwave 10-15 seconds; don’t melt!) and vanilla in a large mixing bowl until creamy. A stand mixer is helpful here.
*Add granulated sugar and brown sugar. Mix until creamy.
*Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
*Gradually beat in flour mixture.
*Stir in chocolate chip morsels. Use two small cereal spoons to round and drop dough onto baking sheets. Parchment paper or silicone baking mats are encouraged for easy cleanup.
Step 3
*Bake for 9 minutes, then rotate the cookie sheet’s orientation 180 degrees to ensure even baking.
