As everyone should know, the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie (PG-13) is coming out Oct. 26 in theaters and on Peacock starring Josh Hutcherson, Matthew Lillard, and of course Freddy Fazbear. And while this film may be coming out very soon, we still have time to make some predictions (theories if you please) towards this film. But for starters let’s give a brief rundown of the film and what it will be taking from the games.
Our story begins with Mike Schmidt and his daughter exploring a broken down pizza restaurant centered around the famous character of Freddy Fazbear. But what they may not know is that beneath all the greasy fun, lies a horror unknown. Back in the 1980s, there were a series of several murders that were committed on the premises by a security guard who was disguised as one of the animatronics, shutting down the restaurant for good. But as the years went by, these children’s souls would become restless and haunt the restaurant for several decades, waiting for their revenge against another security guard. Which just so happens to be Mike’s new job…
Now that you know the plot, let’s get into some theories! This will obviously be taken majorly from Five Nights at Freddy’s 1 and 3, but here’s a major spoiler warning for all games in the series:
- Freddy’s will burn down. This may be a bit of a weird theory to some but as said before, they are already tackling events that happen in the third film such as William Afton’s transformation into Springtrap. So to add onto that, I believe a very similar ending to Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 will occur where the building burns down in flames and we believe the spirits of the original animatronics are set free and Afton is gone. That is at least, until the sequel.
- Vannesa will turn against Mike. From the two most recent Five Nights at Freddy’s games (Help Wanted and Security Breach) we have Vannesa, the supposedly trustworthy night guard who turns against the player and becomes a killer bunny known as Vanny. Vanny is technologically possessed by Afton far after his death in the series and would serve as the new antagonist of the series until The Mimic. But while I don’t think they will cover all of this story in the film, they can certainly have Vannesa betray Mike as she locks him in a room with a bloodthirsty Springtrap. It would be a fun way to acknowledge the story of the modern games and serve an interesting purpose for the story, as well as provide a new dynamic for the characters that hadn’t existed in the games prior.
- And for our last prediction we have the death of Abby Schmidt (Mike’s Daughter). While it may be a very grim thought, this series is by far no stranger to the idea of child murder. And the only major early Five Nights at Freddy’s character that is missing in the story that relates to the lore, is The Puppet. And since Henry is nowhere to be found in this film so far, we can presume that Abby could serve as our film Puppet over Charlotte. For those unaware, in the games Charlotte Emily was the daughter of Henry Emily, the founder of Fredbear’s Family Diner along with William Afton. Eventually William Afton killed Charlotte in an attempt to harvest her soul to become immortal, but Charlotte’s soul lived on to possess The Puppet. Where she gave the souls of fellow murdered children the bodies of Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, and Golden Freddy. I believe that for the purpose of this film, they will have Abby serve the same purpose as Charlotte did in the games and have The Puppet be an incredibly important part of the film later on, or at least in a potential sequel.
I am very excited for the film and have incredibly high expectations. For all those also hyped for this film, what theories/predictions do you have for the film? Let me know at [email protected] or meet me in the halls if you see me!
