After the Ravens lost 49-7 to Hazelwood West on Aug. 26 and to St. Dominic on Sept. 1, they were looking to bounce back against their metro league rival, Lutheran South.
After receiving the ball to open the game, the Ravens traded possessions with the Lancers. But then the Ravens scored on a one yard keeper after a long 60-yard run by Jack Parent. However, Lutheran South was able to tie the score due to a Priory turnover. The Lancers drove down the short field with a variety of options and sweeps.
The Ravens next drive stretched into the second quarter and it resulted in another short touchdown by the Ravens quarterback. The drive was powered by runs from running back Kyle Hogan and a key first down reception by Devon Creeth. Despite a push by the Lancers, Priory went into the half leading by that one touchdown.
At the start of the second half, the Lancers came out strong with a long, sustained drive that resulted in the equalizing touchdown. But the Ravens charged right back down the field and scored another rushing touchdown, this one by Parent, who ran 63 yards. The Lancers answered with a touchdown that was aided by a personal foul on the Ravens. But they missed the extra point which created an opportunity that the Ravens exploited after Lutheran South missed their kick. The Ravens took advantage and went down the field, scoring on a 20-yard pass from Parent to Owen Eisenbeis. Parent then converted a 2-point conversion to make the score 29-20. Priory decided to try an onside kick and was able to recover the ball. They tried to run out the clock but were unable to keep the ball moving. However, they eventually were able to move the ball downfield and score another rushing touchdown to seal the game. Parent ended the game with four rushing touchdowns and one passing touchdown to Eisenbeis. The Ravens will look to continue winning next week against MICDS.
